  • You (the customer) are the Data Controller — You determine why and how recipient personal data is processed
  • UNMTA is the Data Processor — We process recipient data solely on your behalf and according to your instructions

We process recipient data only to provide the Services you have requested (delivering your emails, processing bounces, handling complaints, etc.).

6.2 Recipient Data We Process

When you send email through UNMTA, we may process:

  • Recipient email addresses
  • Message metadata (subject lines, timestamps, message IDs)
  • Delivery events (sent, delivered, bounced, deferred)
  • Bounce and complaint notifications

6.3 Retention of Recipient Data

We retain recipient data for limited periods necessary to provide the Services:

  • Log and event data: Up to 25 hours
  • Message data (queued/deferred): Up to 7 days; deleted immediately upon successful delivery

You may export data in real-time via webhooks or log shipping to your own systems. We recommend configuring data export to retain records beyond these periods.

6.4 Data Processing Agreement
